The job search engines are a terrific resource for getting directly to job postings. Now, you can even further target your job search by using a niche job search engine. A niche job search engine, rather than searching across the Internet for jobs, searches for jobs based on a more specialized criteria – just green jobs from green job boards, for example, or just retail jobs. Green Job Spider... (more...)
There are a variety of ways to apply for jobs and how you submit your job application depends on what the company wants applicants to do. What should you do when you receive notice of a layoff? What’s the best way of surviving a layoff? First of all, you should check with your company on the benefits you may be entitled to when you leave. It’s also important to file for unemployment insurance, and to make sure you have all the bases covered, so you can start a job search. However, to back up a step, there are ways to be prepared... There has been quite a bit of confusion regarding extended unemployment benefits. The current extended unemployment compensation provides unemployment benefits for 4 tiers of unemployed workers.
